The Laboratory for Physical Sciences (LPS) seeks talented and motivated people to join our team: graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, research scientists, engineers, and technical leaders who are driven to advance the boundaries of science. The LPS offers state-of-the-art research facilities, including nanofabrication facilities at LPS and access through the Maryland Nanocenter. We offer high-speed characterization tools in modern low-vibration laboratories and have a set of unique and early stage computer system prototypes. Our collaborations include funding for external technical programs and research groups both within the US and abroad.

NRC Research Associateships
In addition to traditional postdoc opportunities, LPS is currently seeking candidates for a limited number of highly competitive postdoc positions available through the NRC Research Associateship Program. Pathway to a Physics Ph.D.
Fully Funded Research Degree
Students in the Pathway to a Physics Ph.D. (P3) will have the opportunity to conduct research at LPS and receive their degree from University of Maryland, a top Physics PhD program. We are looking for students who have a passion for science and ambition to succeed. We are interested in students who have made the most of the educational and research opportunities available to them.
